“For my entire life, she had cut my hair. I've only ever gone out to get a haircut once. Whenever I'd get my hair cut by her, I'd always joke and tell her "hớt giống không hớt. (cut my hair like you didn't even cut it.)" since she loved cutting my hair so short. She'd always laugh and poke fun at me for saying that.”

“When I was in middle school, she would drive my Sister and I to Starbucks almost every morning and buy us their stupid overpriced breakfast. For as long as I knew her she'd always order the same Starbucks order. She loved her 4 shots of expresso over ice, with 3 pumps of white mocha because it tasted like Vietnamese iced coffee.”
